Extraordinary Assurance Of Forgiveness

One of the lies the devil tells us is that our sins cannot be forgiven. ‘How can I deserve forgiveness when I am so wicked?’ You seems to ask. ‘My sins are too great and beyond forgiveness’. These are the words that come to your mind so frequently and you think all hope is lost. You have determined to stay glued to the miry clay of sin not minding that your sins will lead you to hell.
There is a place beyond your heart and what the devil is saying. There is an extraordinary hand at work bidding you to come. The Lord hates your sin but he loves you. Once you repent and turn away from your sin, He will forgive.

The Lord cannot lie. He is not a man. I have come to show you His words of assurance about the certainty of forgiveness of sin so you can be free from guilt forever:

He Blots Your Sins Away
‘I even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins’. (Is. 43:25) Can you see that? The most gracious God of heaven and earth, the Lord who created you says He will not remember your sins again. No words of the devil can change that. Believe it and live by it. ‘I have blotted out as a thick could, thy transgressions and as a could, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee’ (Is. 44:22)

Your Sins Are Behind His Back
What He did for Hezekiah, He will do for you ‘Behold, for peace I had great bitterness; but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back’. (Is. 38:17) The Lord no more sees you as a sinner. Your sins are now behind His back.


He Forgave Paul, He Will Forgive You
‘And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious, but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief’.(I Tim. 1:12-13)
No matter your sins, you are qualified for forgiveness and regeneration. Are you as injurious as Paul who supervised the killing of the saints of God? Are you as blasphemous as Paul who despised the life and ministry of Christ? Cheer up! All what God demand from you is repentance and complete turning away from your sins. Confess them to Him and He will receive you. He has promised not to cast out whosoever come to Him. 'If the wicked resotre the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live'. (EZe. 33:15)

The Prayer Of The Wise

Some pray for worldly things that do not last. Even if we get all the things we ask for in this world materially what shall be the end ‘for what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul’. (Mk 8:36)
What shall it profit a man? Material things perish but our soul live forever. What shall it profit a man? Things of this world shall all pass away hence we should not make the mistake of holding tightly to them at the expense of our soul.
‘Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me’. (Ps. 119:133). This is the prayer of the wise. It is a prayer with eternity in view.

Think deep and meditate over those imperishable words. ‘Order my steps in thy word’. This is the prayer of the wise. It is a prayer that have less to do with things of this world. It looks up to God with faith and confidence. It is a prayer that put the word of God in highest consideration. But some people spurn the word of God. They never believe in it.

But their unbelief will not alter the unchangeable word of God that ‘the soul that sinneth it shall die’. ‘God is angry with the sinner everyday’(Ps. 7:11) No statutes and dogma of any man can change those eternally relevant scriptures. It stands forever.
That’s why we must all pray the prayer of the wise. ‘Order my steps in thy word’. This prayer is the path to safety.

Now what could we say about the word? It is the word of salvation ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believe in him should not perish but have everlasting life’ (John 3:16). It is the word of saving grace ‘ For the wages of sin in death but the gift of God is eternal life though Jesus Christ our Lord’ (Rom 6:23)
It is the word of peace and holiness. ‘Follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord’. (Heb. 12:14)

To pray this prayer, you should get acquainted with the word. ‘This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make they way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. (Jos. 1:8)
The entrance of the word of God gives light. The more you read it, the more your eyes are opened to spiritual things. That is when the prayer of the wise could be meaningful to you.


‘And let not any iniquity have dominion over me’. Sin is our greatest enemy. It damns our soul and set its victims on the path of hell fire. Can you now see the reason why we must pray that sin have no dominion over us? This prayer will draw you away far from sin and sin will draw you far away from the prayer.
Let’s consider the elements of iniquity. ‘Now the works of flesh are manifest, which are these, adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God’. (Gal 5:19-21)
If you play with iniquity, your hands will be burnt. The author of this prayer in consideration knew what it means to fall into sin. He committed murder and adultery but paid dearly for it. The poisonous sting of iniquity dealt him a great blow. Thank God he repented and never went back to it. No wonder he prayed to God not to allow any iniquity have dominion over him.
God answered his prayer. He ended his life’s pilgrimage on a glorious note. He is till date an enviable reference in righteousness for rulers who want to learn how to obey the Lord.
Friend, here is the secret to eternal victory. Pray that God order your steps in his word today and that no iniquity have dominion over you. He will surely answer.

Everyone Has Turned To His Own Way

What is the singular reason for the wanton destruction and fear that pervade the world today? What makes children to rebel against their parents and constituted authority today? Why is our families no more a place of refuge and rest? Why is corruption the norm and no more the exception? The high rate of suicide, drug addiction and divorce is a thing of concern to all but why is it so?

Ancient Answer To Global Worries‘All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way’.(Is. 53:6) That is the answer from God to our persistent worries and concern. We no longer care about the good of our neighbours. The proven and time-tested rule of ‘ do unto others what you would others do you’ has no place anymore in our hearts. The love of God is no longer a priority not to talk of our neighbours. We are blind to the cry of the needy in our midst.
But must things continue this way? ‘He hath shown thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God’. (Micah 6:8)

We Must Turn Back To God‘
The Lord is my shepherd…’ We must go back to the Lord. He is our shepherd. Waiting for His guidance and leadership is the solution to our wayward ways. ‘Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy…and unto our God, for he will abundantly pardon’ (Is. 55:7)Repentance is the first step to godliness. We must begin to think of how to be of help to others and be a true disciple of Christ. Begin immediately to forgive those who have offended you and you will be qualified to be forgiven by God. No peace for the wicked saith the Lord. This is the time to ‘follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord’ (Heb. 12:14)Have you been negatively influenced by evil association? Turn away from them and go back to the gathering of God’s children. ‘What agreement has light with darkness and what concord has God with mammon’?



Turning Away Into Another Gospel
Christ warned that in the last days, false teachers shall arise.
What will they be teaching? False doctrines.
It never took very long before they started teaching doctrines alien to the true gospel.
It happened during the days of Apostle Paul. The Galatians were his converts. In his absence, false teachers took over the stage misinforming the people about how to be saved. Their emphasis was on good works and keeping the law. Once you do such, there is a guarantee of salvation.
That’s where they missed it. We are not saved by our works but by grace. Why turn into another gospel? Paul had to swiftly make a practical move to correct this fallacy.
In his letter to the Galatians he wrote ‘I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel’ (Gal 1:6)Think about this. Is this not the same situation you find yourself today. You have turned away into another gospel. You have allowed false teachers to deceive you. They claim to be the saviour and the Christ you can see. They prove their powers by the miracles they do and you were carried away. Some teach that all you need to do to receive God’s commendation is to be good to others and that’s all. You have soon forgotten that ‘by works shall no man be saved’ and that ‘for by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: not of works lest any man should boast’. (Eph. 2:8-9)Why are you soon removed into self righteousness? Have you forgotten that all our righteousness are like filthy rags? ‘For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God’. (Rom. 3:23)The true gospel is the gospel of
Grace
Obedience
Submission
Peace
Endurance
Love

Any message contrary to these is false doctrine. Depend on the saving grace of God. Determine in your heart to always obey Him. Submit yourself to God and resist the devil. Follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord. Endure hardship as a good soldier of Christ. Love God with all your heart and love your neighbour as yourself. This is the true message of the gospel. Go back to it.

7 Great Path To A Great Day

This is the day that the Lord has made, we shall be glad and rejoice in it. Thanks be to God for making us to see the bright shinning light of the day. It is a day we have never had before. It is new and fresh. You as a child of God definitely must have a great expectation for the day. But how can the day be so great for you?
‘See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Wherefore be ye not unwise but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Eph. 5:15-19)

In those scriptures there are 7 great ways to make your day great and profitable. Let’s consider them one after the other:

1. Walk Circumspectly: The best way to live as an overcomer today is to be careful and disciplined. Never give room to careless visitation. Let your feet take you to where you will be edified and made strong. ‘Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful..’ (Ps. 1:1) Take it to heart to be Christ-like in you deeds, be open to instructions in righteousness, resist the devil and he will flee from you. Ask God to create in you a new heart. You cannot bear your burden alone. Unburden them to the Lord. Meekness is a great power that will impact your day positively-use it. Be sincere in all things. Pray without ceasing and expect great things from God. Correct in love and say the truth in your heart. Lay hand suddenly on no man and yield yourself completely to God. If you do these things, your circumspection will be great and complete.
2. Redeem The Time: The evils of today are sufficient for it. Get involved in productive things and give no room for idleness. The idle hand is the workshop of the devil. Are you seeking spiritual growth, get spiritual books and read them for your personal edification. Find opportunity to do good to others. There is a wonderful power in the gospel to change lives. Share your testimony with someone today. Say no to gossiping and let the word of Christ dwell in your richly.
3. Be Ye Not Unwise: The fool has said in his heart that there is no God. Don’t be a companion of such. Rather identify with those that love the Lord. It will be foolish to be a partaker in other men’s sins.
4. Understand What The Will Of God Is: How shall a man cleanse his ways but by taking heed to the word of God? Be a committed friend to the word of God. Hide God’s word in your heart and you will not sin against him. ‘This book of the law shall not depart out of they mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success’. (Jos. 1:8)
5. Be Filled With The Holy Spirit: What can we do without the Holy Spirit? Nothing. You need the Spirit of the living God to be holy. The more we are filled with the Spirit of God, the more prepared we’ll be to obey Him. True and selfless love is a product of the Holy Spirit. It is the only path to complete yieldedness to God.
6. Speak In Psalms, Hymns And Spiritual Songs: Is there anyone afraid of tomorrow? Encourage him in the words of Psalm 23 and 121. ‘The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want…’ ‘I will lift up my head above the hills; from whence cometh my help? My help come from God who made the heaven and the earth’. Do you know anyone distressed? Encourage that one that we have a great friend in Jesus according to the hymn ‘What A Friend We Have In Jesus’. There is a spiritual song that has always edified you. Use it to make others strong.
7. Give Thanks Always Unto God: When things go the way you want it, give thanks to God. When things fail to go the way you want it, give thanks to God. In every disappointment, there is an equivalent or greater blessing and benefit. Count your blessings and thank God for His abundant grace and mercy. Remember that you are specially and wonderfully made.

Know It, Store It, Show It, Sow It

The word of God is sharper than any two edged sword. The power in it is unlimited. Through it we know that God sent His only begotten son that whosoever believe in Him
Should not perish but have everlasting life. Those in darkness receive light. The fool receive wisdom while the weak receive strength through it.
The Bible is the way to true freedom. Through it we know that ‘ if the son shall set you free, you shall be free indeed’.The question is do you really take time to study it to profit from its doctrine, correction, reproof and divine instruction? In some clime, it is forbidden to own the Bible but that cannot be an excuse for you.
For your benefit, here are the 4 time-tested, proven and best way to profit from the Bible:

1. Know It: This is your own responsibility. You should desire the sincere milk of the word that you may grow thereby. It is vital for you to give time to reading it so that you will derive the wisdom greater than those of your teachers, elders and enemies. When you know it, you will be well positioned to do it. But how can you do it?
2. Store It: Yes. You must store the word of God in your heart. Many issues of life battle in your heart to divert your attention from things that really matter for eternity. Like the psalmist, you should be able to say ‘ Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee’. Can you see something significant in that scripture? It says, ‘That I might not sin against thee’. Your sure bet against sin is to keep God’s word in your heart. Don’t shy away from this necessity. As you store it in your heart, you’ll begin to move to the next level.
3. Show It: Your character is determined by what you do daily. For you to build a godly character, you must act on the word of God in your heart. This is important for you to receive full blessings from God. Christ says ‘Not all that call me Lord, Lord shall enter the kingdom of heaven but they that do the will of God’. When you act on the word of God, it shows you have faith in God. This is a testimony to your obedience. Obedience in a direct link to your blessings. As you take steps to act on God’s word, you make yourself ready to be a blessing to others.
4. Sow It: The transformation God’s word had impacted on you is worth sharing with others. This is the first vital step to your ever present JOY (Jesus-Others-You). Sowing into others lives is a testimony of your readiness to serve and be a source of blessing to others. You become programmed for greatness. Christ says ‘ If any one among you want to be great, he should be the servant of all.’ As you serve others, you are sowing into their lives. Don’t forget that your harvest with depend on the quantity and quality of what you sow.

These are the ageless wisdom on how best to use the Bible.

No, There Are Other 7,000

Elijah’s ministry was dramatic and spectacular. His mission to revive the people of God and restore true religion was genuine and had God backing. In this lesson, we shall look at His Message, Mission And Mistake

His Message
God raised up Elijah to challenge the ungodly reign of Ahab who rejected the God of Israel and promoted idol worship. Truly, evil reigns when the righteous refuse to speak.
Elijah appeared unannounced with a message which was the focus of his ministry ‘And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, saith unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word’. (I Kings 18:1) He spoke the word of God fearlessly. Why do you fear man when God has given you a message? Be courageous. Fear is an enemy you must eliminate from your life if you want to please God.
The message of Elijah was direct and clear. It ushered in the commencement of his ministry. God withheld rain for 3 and half years in answer to Elijah’s prayer. ‘Elijah was a man subject to like passion as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months’. (James 5:17)

His Mission
He was grieved for the backsliden Israel and called for true worship. ‘And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him’. (I Kings 18:21)
Why do you keep delaying the day of your salvation? Tomorrow may be too late. Don’t wait till the day of death to decide for Christ. Idol worship did not save Israel. It won’t save you too. ‘And the time of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent’ (Acts 17:30)
Baal, the god of backslidden Israel disappointed on the day of battle. So will your idols disappoint you when death come calling. Your only route of escape is Jesus Christ. ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and they house’. (Acts 16:31)
The boldness of Elijah was manifest in his message and mission. You as a child of God must stand for Him in the midst of this evil world. Lift up the banner of godliness and true religion.

His Mistake
Elijah was a man subject to like passion as we do. He was overwhelmed by the duty of his ministry. He saw nobody to assist him. He was lonely and depressed. It was in that condition he lost his courage and zeal. ‘And he said , I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain they prophets with the sword, and I , even I only , am left; and they seek my life, to take it away’. (1 Kings 19:10)
Elijah made a mistake in thinking that there was nobody else who followed the Lord. At that hour, God immediately provided the alternative to Elijah and informed him of the existence of other 7,000 prophets yet to bow to Baal. ‘And the Lord said unto him, Go, retun on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to the king over Syria: and Jeshu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meloha shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.’ (1 Kings 19:15-16) ‘Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him’. (vs 18)
Here is a vital lesson for us. At no point should we think that because of our anointing and gifts, we are indispensable before God. Yes, we are important for the propagation of His work and will on earth but we are not indispensable. All we have are given to us by God. We should use the gifts as faithful stewards with humility. ‘For who maketh thee to differ from another? And what hast thou that thou didst not receive? Now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? (I Cor. 4:7)
May you find grace to abide in his presence forever. Amen

Obedience When It seems Difficult

Thanks be to God for His abundant grace and mercy. Let me thank Him for your life and those of your acquaintances. In Him we live, we move and have our being. Special thanks to God for the gift of life.
This series is back of board after sometime off to retreat. With the new spirit and anointing, I believe God to specially touch you and inspire you through His precious and powerful word.
Our lesson today shall be taken from the book of 2 Kings Chapter 4:1-7
A certain woman of the wives of the prophets displayed a rare quality of obedience in difficult times. She is an example to us living today in faith, courage and obedience.

The Problem
Her husband died. That left her to be a widow in her youthfulness. Those she taught could be of help among her husband peers and family disappointed her. Yet she would not be deterred. She recognized the need to seek counsel from the man of God. Do you seek counsel from your spiritual leaders when there is problem? That could be responsible for your lack of miracle.
'Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, ‘Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen’.
To compound her situation, the creditor came calling. With no money, she had to release her sons to be slaves. That she could not endure. She called to Elisha an anointed prophet of God for godly counsel. Why do you seek counsel from ungodly men in time of sorrow?

Her Faith‘He that come to God must believe that He is God and a rewarder of they that diligently seek Him’. ‘And the just shall live by faith’. This woman believed she would find solution to her problem through godly counsel. She knew that God would intervene in her situation. She took a positive step that transformed her life and saved her children.
‘And Elisha said unto her, what shall I do for thee? Tell me what hast thou in the house?Despite her need, it was still necessary that she recognize what was in her hand. No matter your situation, your miracle may start from what is in your hand.

Her Courage and Obedience
She took step on the counsel of the man of God. Though things were tight, yet she obeyed the word of the prophet. She could have given reasons why the word of the man of God could not be obeyed. It was a difficult thing to do. Why borrow again when the present problem arose from debt. All what she was asked to do belied human methods and reason. Still, she obeyed.
‘So she went from him and shut the door upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out’. If we ever desire to obey God, the triplets of Faith, Courage and Godly wisdom are a necessity. This widow had all. She obeyed when things seemed difficult. No excuse for disobedience. The more you obey God and His anointed ministers, the more multiplied your miracle. Total obedience is the key to constant outpouring of daily miracle from God into our lives.
