It Is A Personal Decision

Most of the things that happens to us are within our control. You can control how you think. You can control what you eat. You can control what you wear. You can control how you talk and what you say. You can control where you go. Above all, you can control how you act. Therefore you can watch all that you do.
Loving God and serving Him is an individual thing. If you want, you'll do it. If you don't want, you won't do it. It is for this reason Christ said that 'whosoever believe shall be saved'. If you believe, you'll get the benefit of salvation from sin through Chist Jesus.

The psalmist, long before Christ was born thought about how to please God. He discovered that it is not going to be by strength but there must be a will to do something very vital. What was it? He enthused 'Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto accroding to thy word'. He identified the necessity of getting close to the word of God and making it our eternal guide to the heart of God. It will not be enough to gather knowledge but to be a doer of the word.
Acting on the word of God makes us different. That is a personal decision. If you don't act on it, you'll be like others living aimlessly in ungoldly acts through life.

The psalmist went further to say 'With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me wander not from they commandments'. We commit sin when we wander from the commandment of God. And then what must we do to stay clean daily and full of good works? 'Thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against thee'.
Pressures of life conspire with circumstances we cannot control to make us compromise on hiding the word of God in our hearts. But this we must resist. There must be a personal commitment to the word of God. Hide it daily in your heart. If you do, you will not sin against God.
Friend, you need the Holy Spirit to help you take personal decision to follow the word of God daily. Ask Him to fill your heart with understanding of the word as you read it. It shall be well with you.
