There is a reward for upright living. Folks in the kingdom wonder if it is still profitable to live righteously in this world. Oh yes! It pays to live a righteous life.
If you are lost on what you stand to benefit for living uprightly, there is an answer secretly buried in psalm 84:11 'For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly'.Let's extract the last sentence for this lesson-'no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly'. You see that? The benefit is that you will always get good things from God. The grace of God is good. You need it because by grace are we saved through faith. The order God instills in you through His word is good so you can do things orderly, decently and be unique. Obeying the word of God at all times is a good thing which the Holy Spirit will empower you to accomplish. The power to decree is a good thing which you get from God if you walk uprightly.
Here again is what is GOOD for you:
G-God's grace
0-Order and Decency
0-Obedience power
D-Decree for spiritual triumph
What then can you do consistently to live UPRIGHTLY?
U-Understand the will of God
P-Pray with faith and forgiveness everyday
R-Repent and forsake of all known sins
G-Give and it shall be given to you
H-Hate sin and have hope in God
T-Trust in the Lord with all your heart and rely not on your own understanding
L-Love God with all your heart and love your neighbour as yourself
Y-Yield not to temptation for shielding is sin
If you truly want God to do you good today, make up your mind to live uprightly.
