Dead Dog Or Valued?

Mepibosheth was the only son Jonathan left behind. He was lame and orphaned as a result of his dad's early death. His dad accompanied big king Saul, Mepibosheth's grand father to the last battle against the Philistines-Israel's greatest enemy at that time. King Saul and Jonathan his son lost their lives at that battle.
David, the new king in Israel remembered Jonathan his childhood friend and thought of how he could be of help to that family.
Fortunately, he got someone to inform him of a surviving son of Jonathan called Mepibosheth. You can wonder how happy David was when he found an avenue to express his benevolence. He quickly made arrangement for Mepibosheth to be brought to the palace to eat at his table. All the royal benefits of Saul was also restored to him.
That was a surprise act of kindness to Mepibosheth. He never thought of being worthy of such benevolence. He saw himself as a dead dog. King David saw him as a valued being with royal blood.
Where you think about yourself as a dead dog there is someone who sees you as valued. Christ values you and sacrificed His life for you at the cross. He only requires of you to accept His gift of salvation. Repent of your sins and forsake them. You will become a new creation and the glory of God will shine in you.
Mepibosheth never rejected the benevolent act of David. Would you accept the gift of Christ for your salvation?
