'Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them; for this is the law and the prophets'.
If I say to you 'do it', you should retort back at me asking 'do what'?
What do you want others to do to you in the family? What to you want people to do to you in your neighbourhood? How do you want to be treated in the church? What about in the office where you work, what do you want people to say about you?
If you think about anything good regarding these questions, just go ahead and do same to others.
Life is a boomerang. What you sow into the life of others shall you reap. Do you want to be treated with courtecy? Do likewise to others. If you want to be favored, favor others. If you want to be loved and appreciated, appreciated others. If you want to be honoured, honour others. If you don't want people to speak evil of you, don't speak evil about others. This is what Christ called the law of the prophets. It is the golden rule. Show a little bit of kindness, care for the dying, provide shelter for the stranger. You'll not only receive commensurate service, your miracle and deliverance may depend on it.
David in the book of 1 Samuel 30 just lost his place in the Philistine's army. The princes rejected his company and his king friend was forced to let go of him. Just as he returned back to Ziklag, he met his home destroyed, his wives captured and his properties confisticated. As he sought to locate the intruders, he met a dying servant of the intruders, he was an Egyptian. David forgot about his troubles at that moment and attended to the sickly stranger. The Egyptian turned out to be his informant who led him to the camp of his enemies. David recovered his lost glory and family. If you apply the golden rule, doors will open before you.
After my secondary school education and while waiting for admission into the higher institution, I took it upon myself to give my service free in teaching a pal of mine who was having problems with her sciences. I was consistent and dedicated and her parents saw my effort. I never knew her father had the information about a course I never knew about-Medical Laboratory Science. He later ensured I got the application form and physically accompanied me to the institution. The door of admission opened for me and today I am a practicing medical laboratory scientist.
Offer yourself sacrificially for others and you be find people who will go the extra mile to work for you. That is the golden rule. The greatest master revealed the secret. I hope you'll apply it?

Thanks for a good article. I have Google set to send me alerts when it finds articles on the Golden Rule, which is what led me to your blog.
Too often we forget, as you point out, "What you sow into the life of others shall you reap" when we go through life.
Hmmm, apparently used the wrong account to log my comment. If you'd like to have a look at the Golden Rule Radical, the website should be in this comment
Again, thanks for a good Scriptural reflection on the Golden Rule.
