3 Powerful Prayer Points

We have the assurance that God will answer us if we call upon Him. However, some folks are at a loss of what they are to pray about. Learning how to pray is a vital task for all believers. It is a responsibility we owe God and ourselves.
Praying for yourself alone makes prayer become uninteresting and stagnant. To get down to the insider secrets of powerful and result orientated, fulfilling prayer, here are the 3 Prayers Points that guarantee instant results and make the church a better representative of Christ in this evil world. Paul the Apostle is the author of the prayer points. Let's look at them:

1. Pray That Believers Walk Worthy Of The Lord: You can help your church grow in holiness if you consider this prayer point. Walking worthy of the Lord is the same as pleasing God in all we do. Imagine if through your prayers, believers around you begin to walk in the way of God. Think about how sinners will be willing to repent and believe in Christ as a result of love and holiness of the brethren. Think about your children turning a new leaf of life as a result of this kind of prayer. Think about the blessings that believers will get if you call continuously upon God on their behalf to walk worthy of God. 'Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth at the seat of the scornful'. Your prayer will make believers to obey the above scripture and receive the blessings that follow.

2. Pray That Believers Be Fruitful In Every Good Work: Being kind to the needy is a good work. Showing love to the destitute is a good work. Clothing the poor is a good work. Caring for the widow around us is a good work. Providing for the need of the brethren is a good work. Our world will be a better place and the church will have a better testimony if every member is fruitful in good works. Pray for it to be actualized.

3. Pray That Believers Increase In The Knowledge Of God: The more of the scripture believers understand, the better they will be ready to grow in righteousness, take correction, accept discipline, show love for God and man and walk in holiness. The power of darkness will crumble before the church of God and the gate of hell cannot prevail against it. When believers read and believe the word of God and put it into action, they will have good success and their light will shine in a dark world.
How fulfilled would you be if you make these prayer points part of your commitment in prayers?

The Heritage Of God

Children are the heritage of God. If you are blessed to have them, i congratulate you. They are God's special gift. How can man sustain his generation without children? No wonder some folks spend so much to medically become pregnant using fertility techniques because they find it difficult to procreate. You must have also heard about rich men who adopt children since they are biologically handicaped.
Children are precious gifts. Imagine the joy they bring to homes. The arrow is a mighty tool of war in the hands of a warrior. So are the children of the youth.
Knowing how precious children are, we have a great responsiblity as parents to train them in the ways of righteousness, godliness and discipline. Righteous children will be a good representative of God and your family in a sinful world. Godly children will draw men to Christ. Disciplined children will bring joy and peace to their parents not sorrow. You need to put effort into training your children in the way they should go while they are young so that when they become of age, they will not depart from it.
Think about how the rate of crime in the world will be reduced when more and more of our children do what is godly and never take to drugs. Think about the audicious hope that can spread like wild fire to many hearts when our children have the right attitude to living and are inspirational.
The ball is in your court. Teach your children when they are still mild in heart and innocent. Read the word of God to them and help them to memorize the scriptures. Instruct them in godly living and you too will have rest.

Strong Rock For A House Of Defence

God is our strong rock. The rock of ages is Christ himself. Occassion arises in our lives when we need the manifestation of God as a rock in our lives.
What do you do when you are overwhelmed with the battles of life? No matter how strong your conviction may be about the cause you believe in, there comes a time when you become burn out and suddenly feel lonely and tired.
It happened to Marthin Luther in Germany during the years of reformation. Dr. Marthin Luther King Jnr. in 1956 got a phone call at midnight which threatened him and almost made him abandoned his civil rights crusade for truth, righteousness, justice and racial equity. He cried to God for help.
Jesus Christ in one of His last prayers to God wanted the cup to pass Him by. The burden of sin was too much for Him to bear. At that point, He needed divine empowerment.
We too need divine empowerment in time of adversity. When the enemy tends to overtake us with defeat, we need to cry out for God's help. We need Him as a strong rock and a house of defence. Therein lies our safety and sustainance.

Dead Dog Or Valued?

Mepibosheth was the only son Jonathan left behind. He was lame and orphaned as a result of his dad's early death. His dad accompanied big king Saul, Mepibosheth's grand father to the last battle against the Philistines-Israel's greatest enemy at that time. King Saul and Jonathan his son lost their lives at that battle.
David, the new king in Israel remembered Jonathan his childhood friend and thought of how he could be of help to that family.
Fortunately, he got someone to inform him of a surviving son of Jonathan called Mepibosheth. You can wonder how happy David was when he found an avenue to express his benevolence. He quickly made arrangement for Mepibosheth to be brought to the palace to eat at his table. All the royal benefits of Saul was also restored to him.
That was a surprise act of kindness to Mepibosheth. He never thought of being worthy of such benevolence. He saw himself as a dead dog. King David saw him as a valued being with royal blood.
Where you think about yourself as a dead dog there is someone who sees you as valued. Christ values you and sacrificed His life for you at the cross. He only requires of you to accept His gift of salvation. Repent of your sins and forsake them. You will become a new creation and the glory of God will shine in you.
Mepibosheth never rejected the benevolent act of David. Would you accept the gift of Christ for your salvation?

Remember Your First Love

What we do very well has the potential to blindfold us from seeing vital things we have neglected. When we first believed, how did we preach the gospel? What kind of passion did we put into the work of God? We did it as if Christ will come back the next day.
Our love for the brethen and our heavenly father was remarkable. It was our passion and pursuit. Unfortunately that love soon died.
The Ephesian church experienced the same depreciation in their love for God and His work. The risen Christ sent His angel to commend and admonish them on the need to repent and return to their first love.
'I know thy wokds and thy labor and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars'.
Nevertheless i have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place except thou repent'.
As it was with the Ephesian church, we need to repent and restor our lost passion for Christ and His work. We must increase in sharing the gospel, showing practical love for the brethren and our neighbours. Our prayer lives need be revived too in order to bring down the rain of revival.
