What Can You Sacrifice For Others?

'For I could wish that myself were acursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh'.
What could have warranted such a wish from this reknown apostle of God-Paul? As I reflect more on this statement, I am deeply moved to wonder more on his message. He rather wanted to be lost so that others could be gained. He wanted to take the back seat so others could assume the front row.

What can you sacrifice for others? There is something you can do to save others. Some are in the police force to provide security. They put their lives on the line. Others volunteer to be rescue operators in times of emergency so that others could be saved.

What can you sacrifice for others? Your time is precious. You can invest it to build up others. Why not think about telling others about Christ instead of thinking about your problems and limitations. Why can't you say a word of comfort to those in sorrow? You can devote yourself to praying for others in intercessory prayers.

Your writing talent could bless others. Share your inner thoughts on what you know best. By doing this, others will benefit from your service. Remember that Christ gave His life for you on the cross sacrificially. What can you too sacrifice for others? What about your inspirational songs? Don't keep it under the pillow. Let others hear you sing it. You will be amazed how they have been waiting for you.

Life is too short to be wasted on frivolities. Start today. Let your life count for others.

Power Of Your Mind

Why do we act devilish and rob others of their rights? Evil speaking, backbiting, pride and other evil vices define our personality. You may profess to be a man of God or a godly person but your conduct in the private and public will bear you out.

Some religious leaders in the days of Christ thought that the most important thing is to keep the outward clean. Issues like washing of hands took the front burner to the detriment of the inner mind.

It took Christ to rebuke them before they could put the record straight. No matter how religious you are, your conduct is a reflection of your thoughts. That is the awesomeness of the power of your mind.

If you think good, you will do good. If you think evil, you will do evil. Murders and thefts proceed from our mind. That is why you must watch what you think about. This is the time to renew our minds by engaging in scriptural exercise to fill our hearts with the word of God. By so doing, you will have a lot of spiritual things to think about and do which is of eternal value.

As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.

To Whom Shall We Go?

'Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life'.
When Preachers say the truth and preach sound doctrine as Christ did, there is bound to be dissent in the congregation. Some will leave the church as a result of their perception of the Pastor being over spiritual.

Majority of Christ followers could not bring themselves to understand the spirit filled message of eternal life and truth. They prefered something milder and carnal.
They rejected Christ and went to the world to live the lives they wished in ungodliness.

Do you still enjoy spirit filled messages from your faithful Pastors today? Are you still constantly asking for more spiritual truths from the Lord and His annointed ministers?
Peter enthused 'To whom shall we go'. You too can decide to remain in the Lord today.
You can decide to keep on serving God in your local church faithfully. You have been taught the word of life. Never allow the allurement of the world to take you away from the truth. Remember Lot's wife. Abide till the very end.
It shall be well with your soul.
