Who Is Really A Christian?

When we take a look at what brought about the name 'Christian', we are wont to ask ourselves the pertinent question again, 'Who Is A Christian?'.

Is he the church goer? Is a Christian the tithe payer? Who is a Christian? Is he a son or daughter of a Pastor, Elder, Deacon, Evangelist or generous member of the church?

Let's see the origin of the name in Acts of Apostles 11: 26, '.....And the disciples were called Christian first in Antioch'.

At Antioch, the disciples of Christ didn't only preach the gospel, they also lived the practical Christian life for others to see. They never called themselves Christians. From the life they lived, neighbours saw an example of Christ in them. They lived like Christ. They did good and loved their neighbours. They loved God and man.

Now, who is a Christian? The brethren in Antioch were able to live like Christ because they first accepted him as Lord and Saviour. They found it convenient to follow his footsteps and do his will.

Accept Christ As Lord And Saviour

To be a Christian, you must accept Christ as your Lord and Saviour. This is the condition to become a Christian. Not just being born into a Christian home. Not just going to church; not just being moral. Not just being gentle. Not just being gifted. You need to personally accept Christ as your Lord and Saviour to become a Christian.

Prepare For The Second Coming Of Christ

Christ is coming again. To proof that you belong to Christ, you must prepare daily for his second coming so that the 'day come not as a thief in the night'.

This is a time of sober reflection. Are you a Christian? If Christ comes back today, would you be found worthy?

Christ says 'Behold, I come quickly' (Rev. 22:7). Where would you be when Christ shall come again? Are you a Christian?

This post is very straightforward. What a good question! Everyone has to answer this question for themselves at one point or another.
