Evil Of Disobedience

'And he taried seven days according to the set time that Samuel had appointed but Samuel came not to Gilgal and the people were scattered from him.'

God operated under divine atmosphere not by what we see. King Saul was instructed by the prophet-Samuel to tarry for seven days until he comes so that he could offer burnt offering to the Lord to guarantee victory against the Philistines. Unknowingly to Saul, his kingdom was to be established too.
If you are called to serve God, your obedience and patience will be tested. Saul waited for seven days but he was overwhelmed by the advance of the enemy and the fright of his army.

The Christian journey is not by sight; it is by faith. Under pressure what did the king do?

'And Saul said, bring hither a burnt offering to me and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering'. He violated the divine order of God. Whatever your position in the church, don't take over the duties of your pastor. He is the spiritual leader of the congregation and the angel God put their. Never usurp the duty of your spiritual leader. If he wants you to do anything, he will delegate it to you.

Saul disobeyed direct instruction from God. Immediately after he hurriedly offered the burnt sacrifice, the prophet arrived. If he had waited a little bit, he could have passed the test. His disobedience attracted holy rage from Samuel 'And Samuel said, what hast thou done? Saul gave filmsy excuse for his disobedience but it could not avail much. 'And Samuel said to Saul, thou hast done foolishly; thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the Lord have established the kingdom upon Israel forever'.
He missed God's eternal plan for his life. Disobedience terminates God's favour and divine plan for our lives. It ushers in a season of fear and insecurity. Above all, it robs us of the desired expectation to make heaven.
Decide today to learn from the errors of King Saul who had a spectacular calling of God in his life but lost everything as a result of disobedience.
Whatever your vocation may be. No matter your position in the church. Allow God to establish you by constantly obeying His commandment. It is the fastest and easiest way to the heart of God.

Text 1 Samuel 13: 8-13
