'So shall my word be that goeth out of my mouth: it shall not retrun unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing wherto I sent it'.
The word of God is not the same as the word of man. It is in the character of man to say one thing and do contrary. Politicians say all kinds of sensational promises to win votes but when it comes to practical governance, they falter. That is one of the reasons for underdevelopment in the world especially in most African countries.
When Abraham could not point to any issue of his at old age, God promised him a son from Sarah his wife. A year after, the promise was fulfilled.
Moses led the Israelites out of slavery from Egypt despite the high handedness and wickedness of king Pharaoh. This happened in fulfillment of the word of God.
God inspired His prophets to talk about the redemption of man through the Messiah who will be born of a virgin. He fulfilled it in Christ.
The word of God endures for ever. It cannot fail. Christ promised the disciples that He would send the Holy Spirit to them-the promise was fulfilled at pentecost.
There is power to create in the word of God. Both in the past and in our contemporary world, testimonies abound of the wonder working power of God to save, deliver, make the blind eye see, raise the dead, heal the sick, make the lame walk again and give abundant peace.
If you depend on this word of God, you'll benefit from the wonder working power therein. It will turn your life around. It is a guarantee.
