Let Your Light Shine

'Let your light so shine before men that they may behold your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven'.

Are you a child of God? Live like one. Don't be pretencious. Let your light shine. The world is full of darkness and evil deeds. You are here to show the way. You are the Lord's ambassador. What people see you do give them impression of whom you really are.

It is not enough to be a preacher. It is not enough to be a church worker. It is not enough to be an Elder or Deacon. What matters is how you behave and conduct yourself.
You call yourself a Pastor but hang out with drinking pals and on your way home you jumped traffic control light. The police gets you arrested because you disobeyed basic traffic rules. Can being a preacher exonorate you? Never. Your conduct is contrary to your profession.

At Antioch, the followers of Christ were called Christians for the first time in history. Why? Because they behaved like Christ. They showed love. They cared about the less priviledged. They prayed that the sick might be healed and were great in good works.

Good work is the mark of identity of a child of God. If you multiply in it, your testimony shall be great indeed. Your father in heaven will be glorified and sinners can turn away from darkness to light as a result.

Your good work must not be to your friends alone. Do it to your enemies too. That is how Christ taught us. Do good to those who despise and persecute you. Never reward evil for evil but overcome evil with good. That is the way to go. It is the way of light. Shallom.
