Jacob had been a supplanter all his life. He cornered his elder brother Esau and got the blessings due to him. Great enmity was created as a result of his deceptive ways and was not fit to live in the estimation of Esau.
Years went by but the problem remained. He had no confidence to face his elder brother yet, they must meet. A meeting had already been scheduled and his past kept hunting him. He feared and trembled greatly.
What Should I Do?
He thought of what to do. He could either ignore his conscience and risk his life and those of his family or repent of his evil ways and turn to God in prayer for a transformational change. He chose the latter and found time with God alone.
'And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him util the breaking of the day.'
That was the supernatural encounter that changed the course of his life 360 degrees. He was to become a brand new man-he prevailed in prayer.
His petition was answered and he was blessed that morning as his name was changed from Jacob to Isreal.
How Is Your Past Hunting You?
Your past evil has been hunting you because you fail to repent. Like Jacob, you may decide today to settle with God and reconcile with your creator so that your relationship with fellow men too could be right.
The closed door before you and the torment of fear could be as a result of your past misdeeds. Repent of them and let the blood of Jesus Christ make you whole. 'The vilest offender who truly believe, that moment from Jesus a pardon receive'.
The Lord is waiting for you. Call upon him in repentance. He will listen and give you the needed change. Settle it today.
