'And the man said, the woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat'. That was vintage Adam. He blamed God for the disobedience he committed. Is that not what we do when we go wrong and sin against God? We often find excuses to give for our sins instead of repenting immediately and turning away from them. God will not spare you for the sin commmitted. The soul that sin, it shall die.
Adam was not the only man who gave excuse for sin. The Israelites at a point in their lives were fed up of being led by God. It was during the priesthood of Samuel. They came up with different excuses to justify why they rejected God-'And they said unto him behold, thou art old and thy sons walk not in thine ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.' That was it. Three great resons to justify their action. What are the justifications you give for your idolatory and fornication? Know for sure that your sin will find you out. God is a respecter of no man.
Saul disobeyed the commandment of God and offered a priestly sacrifice. It was a sacriledge but did he repent of the sin? No. Instead, he found an excuse to justify his error. Hear him 'And Saul said, because I saw that the people were scattered from me and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash'. He missed the opportunity for his reign to be established. Do you know that your impatience and deliberate rejection of God's will in marriage and godly conduct has turned God against you? God is angry at the sinner everyday. In righteousness only can you be established.
How to escape form the wrath of God is not to give excuse for our deliberate sins but to repent and turn away from them.
Here comes King David who went into adultery. God exposed his evil to prophet Nathan. Did David excuse himself? No. 'And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned aganst the Lord'. Such is the attitude God expect of us. Humble yourself before God. Repent of your sins and never go back to them. Believe in the power in the blood of Jesus to cleanse you from all sins. The vilest offender who truly believe; that moment from Jesus, a pardon receive. 'The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord'.Here is my final charge to you. Get down on your knees and confess your sins to God. He will forgive you. He is ready to take you back. He will turn your life around and you will never be the same again.
