But Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you'.
Most times our ways are selfish and ungodly. Besides the legitimate search for basic needs of life like food, clothing and shelter, we often over-engage in other activities which take us far from the presence of God. We want to be recognized, we want to be rich, we want to be secure through diabolical means. Such inordinate desires pushes us into things that are not convenient.
Christ in his previous message had taught his audience about the need to learn from the creation around us-they remain fresh and beautiful as in the case of the flowers. It is because God cares for them. If He could care for plants, definitely He will take care for our needs for God gives us more regard than they.
When we dwell more on things of this world, we end up joining bad groups and misbehaving. Why do people take to drugs? Because they want to feel high and recognized. They want to be respected but what is the end? Trauma and broken hearts. We never have peace and rest. There is a way out. Christ points to the right way to go.
We are to set our priorities right and seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness. All other good things in life shall be added to it. 'Come unto me all you that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest'. That was Christ's invitation and promise. Will you let him?

Let Your Light Shine
'Let your light so shine before men that they may behold your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven'.
Are you a child of God? Live like one. Don't be pretencious. Let your light shine. The world is full of darkness and evil deeds. You are here to show the way. You are the Lord's ambassador. What people see you do give them impression of whom you really are.
It is not enough to be a preacher. It is not enough to be a church worker. It is not enough to be an Elder or Deacon. What matters is how you behave and conduct yourself.
You call yourself a Pastor but hang out with drinking pals and on your way home you jumped traffic control light. The police gets you arrested because you disobeyed basic traffic rules. Can being a preacher exonorate you? Never. Your conduct is contrary to your profession.
At Antioch, the followers of Christ were called Christians for the first time in history. Why? Because they behaved like Christ. They showed love. They cared about the less priviledged. They prayed that the sick might be healed and were great in good works.
Good work is the mark of identity of a child of God. If you multiply in it, your testimony shall be great indeed. Your father in heaven will be glorified and sinners can turn away from darkness to light as a result.
Your good work must not be to your friends alone. Do it to your enemies too. That is how Christ taught us. Do good to those who despise and persecute you. Never reward evil for evil but overcome evil with good. That is the way to go. It is the way of light. Shallom.

He Is Waiting For You
'Behold I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him and he with me'.
Jesus Christ re-emphasized the love He has for you in this scripture long after His ascension to heaven.
As we draw nearer to the easter period, please reflect on the master's invitation to you if you are yet to be born again. You have refused Him for so long. This is the time to open the door of your heart for Him to enter. He still loves you. He is ready to accept you only if you will allow him. Except a man be born again, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
The obstacles that have hitherto separated you from Him could be removed now.-the cares of this world, the pride of life and the lust of the flesh must give way. Your sins has separated you from God but He is still waiting for you.
Will you open the door of your heart today? Remember His words again 'I will come in to him and will sup with him'. Don't delay. Tomorrow may be too late.

No Cause For Self-Glory-God Gives The Increase
He laboured so much for their salvation. They were his direct fruits. He spent time to nurture them in the faith but the problem was that they were self-centred. Apostle Paul refered to it as carnality. Those who have gifts gloried about it and denigrated those who did not. Those who can pray saw themselves as being super-spiritual. Most never cared about their sins becuase they think of their gifts more than the glory of God.
There was confusion in the Corinthian church plus foolish segregation. Can any church where class difference is magnified ever be united? No. There was a need for correction. Such an attitude is not from the throne of grace.
Apostle Paul took step to make correction by direct rebuke. Friend, no matter how powerful, wealthy, priviledged, gifted or advantaged you may be, recognise that it is the grace of God. No man can boost of those priviledges because it is God given.
If Paul sows and Apollo waters, the increase only comes from God. This is a call for humility of heart. Give glory to God instead of praising yourself. By so doing, you will give God the reason to add to your gifts. Others will be mightily blessed through you and the unity in the church of Christ will be promoted.
Remember that before a fall comes pride. Humble yourself therefore before God.
