God's Unchanging Standard

'For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God'(Romans 3:23)

Human need for God cannot be overemphasized for before God no man is perfect. All our righteousness are like filthy rags before him. Therefore by the works of the law, no man can be justified before him. The way to come to God is the same for the poor and the rich. God cannot be bought over by our riches or position. Our poverty or lack can neither attract the waving of his divine standard for meeting up with his glory nor give us reprieve.

Deeds That Separate From God

'There is none that seek after God. 

'They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

'Their throat is an open sepulcher; with their tongues they have used deceit, the poison of asps is under their lips'.

'Their mouth is full  of cursing and bitterness:

'Their feet are swift to shed blood:

'Destruction and misery are in their ways:

'And the way of peace have they not known:

'There is no fear of God before their eyes'.

How can we claim to know God and yet be committed to evil practices? The cursing mouth and bitter heart is not of God. Being a source of sorrow to others does not project godliness. Who is the author of your wickedness, God? Definitely not. The need for repentance is urgent.

The Way Out

'A man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law'. (Romans 3:28) The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.' (Romans 6:23)

How do we continue in sin and yet expect that grace should abound? Sin is not the nature of God.  The immediate need to turn to God cannot be pushed aside. But you must come believing. You must believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son Of God and confess him with your mouth as Lord and Saviour. By so doing, you shall be saved. God's requirement for all men to be saved is unchanging. Today is the day of salvation, tomorrow may be too late.
