These set of people had no respect for the minister of God in their midst. The man of God was a humble and gentle minister. Yet the men ignored it and revolted against him. God never took kindly to it.
What they murmured about could have been secured by simple faith but instead in believing in God, they despised Him and His representative-Moses.
‘Is Moses the only one who can hear from God’? ‘He is not the only holy one in the camp’ In fact, the camp is holy. They proclaimed. Their rebellion brought confusion into the camp.
The man of God had to do something fast to instill fear and order in the camp. He prayed God to let them die an uncommon death. ‘But if the Lord make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth and swallow them up with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit, then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the Lord’.
The Lord answered the prayer of His servants. The rebel perished for they were swallowed up by the earth.
Peace is obstructed when there is complain and murmuring in the midst of God’s people.
Decide today to stay away from those who sees nothing good in the minister of God keeping watch over you.
Paul Apostle told the Philipian church, ‘Do all things without murmuring and disputing’.
As you go about your task today, do all things with a free mind and clear conscience. Put your best into what you do and avoid dispute.
