It is sure and certain that our outward man will continue to deteriorate. 'Though our outward man perish, we are confident that our inward man grows day by day'. No matter how we try to reverse the process of aging, we are bound to die one day. 'All fresh is as grass that fades away' but the word of God abides forever. The wise will not build his life on perishing physical appearance or riches. If you acquire riches, it has wings and does not last. If you feed your intellect to the detriment of your soul, understand that knowledge is limited. God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.
Our best choice is to grow our inner man daily. Your inner man is your spiritual being.
Accepting Christ as Lord and Saviour is central to growing your inner man. Closely following is your attitude to the word of God. 'Your word has made me wiser than my teachers'. 'By thy precept I'm made whole'. There is power in the word of God to transform and sustain. Desire the sincere milk of the word that you may grow thereby.
'Thy word have I kept in my heart that I may not sin against thee'. Those scriptures were direct meditation penned down by the psalmist.
As you cherish the word of God daily, never neglect the staying power of prayer. Prayer moves mountain. It is the only way to talk to God. 'Ask it shall be given unto you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you'. Use the power of prayer with the word of God to grow your inner man. This is both profitable for life and eternity.
