Life is Christ must start well and end well. Posing great anointing today and falling tomorrow is not the intention of God for us so he had used his prophets to warn us about destroyers of our faith which must be avoided.
'Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father but of the world.'-1 John 2:15-16
No matter your anointing, friendship with any of these destroyers will steal the passion for Christ from you and turn you away from God.
Lusting after the things of the world will entangle God's children and make them lose focus. As a child of God, run for your dear life and avoid:
The Lust Of The Eyes
David though close to God at a point in time lost focus and allowed his eyes to take control of his feelings. He caved in to the lust of the eyes. He saw Beersheba bathing and that was it. He couldn't resist thinking about fornicating with her. At the end of the day, he lost his holiness and purity. He fell into sin. If you want to avoid the same trap, avoid the lust of the flesh.
The Lust Of The Flesh
Samson had great calling and anointing but he failed to put his body under. He loved patronizing harlots and unsurprisingly, he married an harlot just because of the lust of th flesh. His union with Delilah was his undoing as he later lost his anointing and life prematurely.
The Pride Of Life
Nabal couldn't bring himself down to help someone in need. The man he refused help was king David his benefactor. Though he escaped the sword of David as a result of the tactfulness of his wife, he still died prematurely because of his wanton lifestyle. Pride cometh before destruction.
These are the 3 Caterpillars of victorious Christian living. You have to lock the door against them in your life if you want to make heaven.
