The Power In Little Things

Opportunities of a life-time are often missed because we ignore the hidden power in little things and starting small.

Gifts have been left to idle away because of the neglect of the little or single gift you have thus denying yourself the leverage of self-development and growth. Drops of water streams into the ocean. Counting thousands and millions begin from one. Without one, there cannot be a thousand.

If you ever want to become great in life, you need to start using the little you have. It could be your  gift of help, prayer, giving, visitation, caring for others, teaching, exaltation etc. Never neglect the little in your hand.

Little Things That Matter

Moses just needed to be reminded that he had a rod in his hands so he could point it at the red sea. Immediately he did that, the sea parted for the Israelites to walk on dry land. There is a miracle in the little you have in your hand-Use it.

For Samson, it was the jawbone of an ass. Without a sword or arrow, he defeated the Philistine army. He could have been killed and shame brought to his fatherland if he had neglected to use the jawbone in his hand.

David used just  a stone to defeat Goliath-a nightmare for the whole army of Israel for 30 days. David knew that the Lord was with him. He had experienced his mighty saving power in the wilderness. He capitalized on that to defeat Goliath using the despised tool in his hand.

At Ziklag, David experienced total loss of family and properties.  But the moment he helped the dying Egyptian slave boy, door opened to recover his loss. If your gift is to help others, don't neglect it. It could be the way to success for you and greatness in ministry.

Ruth was persistent and faithful to her mother-in-law, that little thing enlisted her in the hall of remembrance and made her an ancestor to the Lord Jesus Christ. Her name remain a model for Righteousness, Usefulness to others, Truth and Honesty.

Phoebe was an ordinary Christian in the Roman Church during the days of Apostle Paul. Her gift of help to the brethren and the Apostle attracted commendation from God and the Apostle. Her example remain indelible in Romans 16.

Jesus Christ during his time in this world held a great crusade that attracted more than 5000 people. By the time he was almost through, they were all hungry. With no money and resources to take care of the huge crowd, it would take the giving spirit of a young boy in the crusade who gave his 2 fishes and 5 loaves of bread for the miracle of feeding 5000 people to happen.

Don't Despise Small Things

'For who has despised the days of small things?' Zech. 4:10

Are you the one? If you are, there is need to have a total turn around. 'Though thy beginning was small, yet thy lattter end should greatly increase'. Job 8:7

Never neglect the gift in you. Use it. It is the seed you need to grow your oak tree.

The psalmist in chapter 84:10 was not ashamed to be a 'doorkeeper in the house of God, than dwell in the tents of wickedness'. Can you make a choice to keep the gate or be an usher in the house of God though you are rich? The way up is down.

In Isiah 60:32, the Lord says, ' A little one shall become a thousand and a small one a strong nation'. There is power in little things. Show a little bit of kindness, show some love, strengthen the feeble knees, help the weak. That's the way to make the world a happy place.

It is well with your soul. Amen.
