The man was badly wounded by robbers. It was an unexpected calamity but it happened and was devastating plus life threatening. In subconscious state, several people passed by. The Pastor was there but couldn't help. The Levite was there but saw no need to show compassion to the dying Jew.
But help came from an unexpected source. The Priest and Pharisee who prided themselves in knowing the mind of God had the opportunity to practice what God really wanted as written in Zechariah 7:9 which says 'Thus speaketh the Lord of host, saying, Execute judgement, and shew mercy and compassion every man to his brother' but they failed when it mattered most.
The good Samaritan was not supposed to even relate with the Jew in anyway but at the moment of crisis, he reached out to the wounded Jew in show of uncommon compassion. By his good deed, he demonstrated good knowledge of the law of God.
What if the people in the city frame him for being the robber? What if his action turned out to be unappreciated? He ignored those concerns and stretched the hand of love.

'And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the on the other side.
But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said to him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
Which now of these three, thinkest thou was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
You'll never be a true brother or neighbour unless you begin to have compassion on others and help them.
Be the one to help people against popular expectation.

Power is not a natural resource. But it does come from energy, which is a big subject.
