Examine Yourself

Can you confidently say you are still in the faith when you deliberately rebel against God? That's what the brethren in the Corinthian church did. They abused the tenets of the Lord's supper. The Lord's supper was the only ordinance Christ said we should do in his remembrance.

That ordinance was turned into a frenzy of eating and drinking by brethren in the Corinthian church thus despising God and bringing his name to ridicule.

The Unworthy Ate The Supper

That's why some of them fell sick and others weak. 'For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body' (1 Cor. 11:29)

'For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep' (1 Cor. 11:30).

By their gluttony and indiscretion, some of them died untimely.

Stop offering unto God strange sacrifice. God is holy and he expects his own people to live in holiness which is the nature of their father.

Examine Yourself

It is better to examine yourself so that a transformative change can happen in your life. Check your motives, actions, expectations, heart and love for God.

Think about how you love God. Haven't you deviated from your first love for God? Are you now not too familiar with God? Take a deep reflection and check up.

Judge Yourself

This is the only way God will not judge you. The prodigal son judged himself after deep self-examination. As a result, he had courage to go back home. If you judge yourself, you'll not be judged with the world.

He who hides his sins shall not prosper but he who confesses his sins shall receive mercy. What are you waiting for? This is the day of reconciliation. Examine yourself whether you are still in the faith.
