What About Your Kids?

Just as the world is in great demand for godly leaders so also is the need for godly kids more urgent. Without godly kids, there cannot be godly leaders tomorrow. After you have done your own part and left this side of eternity what will you leave behind a legacy? Do you want to live with the memory of serving God and working for Him only for you to be succeeded by wicked kids? God Forbid?

Parents care about so many other things, education of the kids, welfare, amusement and all the rest but the spiritual soundness of the kids. Whatever you sow, you shall reap.

Godly Training Of Kids-God's Commandment

'Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it' (Prov. 22:6)

Any parent who desire peace at old age need to consider and obey God's commandment in this scripture. Leaving the kids to all manners of corrupt influences will yield sorrow at the least in the future. To change that kind of a future, train the kids in the way of the Lord and you shall be assured of a glorious future. Abraham didn't only released Isaac to the Lord, he trained him too to fully understand the tenets of his spiritual anchor. Isaac never deviated from that path.

Hannah waited long and prayed fervently to have Samuel. Eventually, she released him for God's service after giving him early instructions in the things of God. Did Samuel fail? No. He never deviated from the godly path set for him since his childhood. He had great witness from God and men that he lived a godly life 'Behold her I am: witness against me before the Lord and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.

'And they said, thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken aught of any man's hand.'

'And he said unto them, the Lord is witness against you, and his anointed is witness this day, that ye have not found aught in my hand. And they answered, He is witness' (1 Sam: 12:3-5)

Transform Your Faith Into Practical Daily Living

You'll need to make Christianity real to the kids. They should see Jesus in you. As a godly parent, live, speak, act and react in ways that will not make godliness repulsive to your children. Know that it cannot be done by force. Remember that kids are good imitators, they will emulate you. Share the scriptures with them and talk about this wonderful God at every given opportunity. The reward to you shall be great indeed.

Transfer Godly Messages Through Christian Literatures

To prevent your kids from negative influences in the world, make Christian literature and magazines readily available to them. Also keep unedifying literatures away from their innocent mind. Above all, know your kids' friends, teachers and those who have influence on them. Prayerfully and tactfully separate them from those that can have ungodly influence on them.

If you give your kids unreservedly unto the Lord, it is certain you'll leave godly children behind and also reap bountifully from God in this life and in eternity.

Shallom.
